FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions)

  • 01. What is the Cobb County School District After School Program (ASP)?

The After School Program (ASP) provides a safe, fun, and nurturing environment for the care of elementary students in the Cobb County School District who attend Face-to-Face instruction from after school until 6:00 PM each school day. ASP is a self-supporting program and receives no support from taxpayer funds.

  • 02. What days is ASP open?

ASP is open on all Cobb County School days of student instruction (including Early Release days). The program does not operate on Student Holidays or District holidays. ASP will be closed upon the District’s announcement of inclement weather.

  • 03. What are the ASP hours of operation?

    Normal hours are 2:15 – 6:00 p.m. During early release days, hours are extended to 11:30 – 6:00 p.m.

  • 04. What if I am unable to pick up my child by 6:00 p.m.?

Please contact the ASP office as soon as you know that you will not be able to meet the 6:00 p.m. closing time. There is a late pick up charge of $1.00 per minute past 6:00 p.m. according to the school clock. This charge will automatically be added to your next invoice.

  • 05. What are the policies for ASP?

Please view the Terms and Conditions Here

  • 06. What are the policies for discipline and removal from the program?

ASP staff work very hard to maintain a safe environment for your children. A big part of this is done by enforcing the ASP rules with consistency and understanding. Some infractions for which your child may receive an official write-up are:

    1. Physical contact (fighting, pushing, hurting another child)
    2. Disrespect to staff members (arguing, talking back, being rude)
    3. Disobeying staff members (not following rules or directions)
    4. Throwing rocks, sticks, dirt, pine cones, etc.
    5. Inappropriate language-swearing
    6. Defacing and/or destroying school or peer’s property
    7. Leaving a supervised area without permission

The following consequences will be implemented if ASP rules are not followed:

    1. First Write-Up: The Director or ASP Desk Worker will contact parent about the offense committed. Depending on the severity of the offense, your child may be suspended for one to several days.
    2. Second Write-Up: Same as #1.
    3. Third Write-Up: Same as #1 and #2, but in addition, the child will be removed from the program for the remainder of the school year.

ASP has the right to remove a child from ASP permanently if he or she consistently engages in behaviors that violate school rules and policies.

For additional information, please contact the ASP Director at your child’s program.

  • 07. Are snacks provided?

Yes, a snack is provided to ASP attendees.

  • 08. What are pick-up procedures?

Only those entered into the Eleyo Childcare Management system as being authorized to pick up a student will be allowed to check out your child. Identification will be required for all student pick ups. Please contact the ASP Director at your child’s program for specific pick up procedures at your program.

  • 09. How much does ASP cost?

The cost of ASP is $10.00 per day of attendance. Children are only charged for days in which they attend.

  • 11. Is fee assistance available?

Contact the ASP Director at your child’s program for information regarding fee assistance.

  • 12. What are your late payment fees?

A $1.00 per week will be charged to past due accounts not paid in full by Tuesday of each week.
  • 13. Who do I contact if I have concerns or questions?

Please contact the ASP Director at your child’s program with any concerns or questions.

  • 14. Why is my child automatically enrolled to attend ASP daily?

To simplify the process for parents and ASP staff, contracts will automatically default to mark daily attendance for all students. This will eliminate the need for Schedule Changes or Drop In days to be submitted and approved. Please remember your child will only be charged for each day they attend ASP. In addition, parents will continue to communicate their child’s transportation changes to the child’s homeroom teacher.

  • 15. How will I be invoiced for ASP?

Your child is charged for each day of attendance. An invoice including the previous weeks attendance plus any unpaid balance will be sent each week to the email of the enrolling adult. If auto pay is set up in Eleyo, the payment will be made automatically. If auto pay is not set up, payment can be entered manually into the Eleyo system. Payments in the form of cash and check will be submitted to the child’s ASP Program.

  • 16. What payment methods can I use to pay for ASP?

Online payment is convenient through the Eleyo Childcare Management system through credit card, debit card, or ACH. Payments in the form of cash and check may be submitted to your child's ASP Program.

  • 17. How do I make a payment?

    • Quick Pay: CLICK HERE to submit a payment via Quick Pay. Any payer with an Eleyo account may use your child's childcare account number to submit a Quick Pay payment. • 18. What forms of payment are charged a program fee?
